The South Garda Karting Circuit will house again an International CIK-FIA race. The second and closing round of the KZ-KZ2 European Championship will get underway in Lonato on July 15th in a joint event with the second round of the Academy Trophy. The most recent two CIK-FIA events in Lonato date back to 1996 and 1997.
Lonato del Garda (Brescia, Italia). With the arrival of the CIK-FIA European Championships from the 13-15 July 2018 for the KZ and KZ2 categories (which will also include the 2nd round of the Academy Trophy) the South Garda Karting circuit welcome the international CIK-FIA competitions after a long absence dating back to 1997 with the European Formula A Championship.
The South Garda Karting Circuit was built in 1988 under the guidance of Angelo Corberi and its operation continues by the Corberi family now with Marco and Silvia. With 1,200 meter in length, 10m in width and grandstands that can accommodate up to 2,000 people the South Garda Karting Circuit is undoubtedly one of the most important and popular kart tracks at international level. The circuit is ideally situated near Desenzano del Garda and Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy and an important destination which is visited every year by millions of people.
The CIK-FIA homologated circuit has been recently extended, now more open and fast than before, plus attention has also been focused to improve the paddock and its services. The South Garda Karting is designed with all the services in mind, ample parking, the large MP Kart store, as well as two bars and restaurants.
Over the years many renowned drivers have competed in high profile events, such as the CIK-FIA Championships, the last editions being the 1996 Formula A World Championship and Formula Super A, and the European Championship 1997 of Formula A. Events of great prestige and importance to karting are also the Winter Cup (this year at the 23rd edition), the Italian Championships, the International Rok Cup Final, and long-standing races like the Andrea Margutti Trophy, the Trofeo delle Industrie, WSK Super Master Series, WSK Open Cup and WSK Final Cup. For two years the South Garda Karting Circuit have hosted DKM , German Championship competitions that have attracted fans of this sport from all over the world.

Sunday July 15th, 2018: Warm-up 8:25-9:50; Qualifying heats 9:55-11:50. Finalists presentation at 13:00. Finals: 13.20 (KZ2); 14:25 (Academy); 15:25 (KZ).
