MORE THAN 230 DRIVERS ON TRACK IN LONATO FOR THE BRIDGESTONE SUPERCUP OF 10-11 OCTOBER

The second and final round of the Bridgestone Supercup is underway at the South Garda Karting of Lonato, as the South Garda Rok Trophy is packed with drivers. The quickest in KZ2 qualifying have been  Dalè, Corberi and Forè. Rok Mini scored a record of participations with 104 drivers on track.
 
Lonato del Garda (Brescia, Italy). The second and final round of the Bridgestone Supercup at South Garda Karting has started on a high since the word go (and it could have not been different), with more than 230 drivers on track (provisional figure) challenging each other in this event that is the prelude to next week's event as the circuit will house the much awaited International final of the Rok Cup.
 
Out of the 230 provisional entered drivers, the vast majority is in Rok categories, that in this occasion will also compete for the classification of the South Garda Rok Trophy to complete the series after the race held last Sunday. Mini Rok scored a season record with 104 young drivers on track.
 
The money prize of Bridgestone Supercup is going to be quite important, as the race will also be valid for the first round of the Winter Cup. Up for grabs are Euros 10.000, 7.000 and 5.000  in money and material respectively for the Bridgestone champions of categories KZ, KF and KFJ. Rok Mini will award technical material.
 
Meanwhile, the qualifying took place on Friday. The most powerful category, KZ2, has seen three drivers from Brescia in the top 3, as the pole position was set by Andrea Dalè (CRG-Tm) in 42.427s, while Luca Corberi (Tony Kart-Vortex) was 57 thousands of a second short of him and Davide Forè, who recently obtained the second place in the German championship, was a tenth slower than the pole on CRG-Tm run by Renda Motorsport. Lorenzo Lapina (Italcorse-Modena) followed in 42.552s, Giacomo Pollini (CRG-Tm) in 42.630s, Luigi Del Vecchio (Tony Kart-Vortex) in 42.690s and Luciano Medeghini (VRK-Tm) in 42.791s.
 
The quickest time In KF Junior was set by Lorenzo Colombo (Tony Kart-Lke) in 45.153s, ahead of the Spanish driver David Vidales (Energy-Tm) who posted his quickest time in 45.250s and the Slovakian Dominik Goldschmed (Energy-Tm) in 45.870s.
 
In the very tight Mini Rok, the single branded category using Vortex engines, the drivers have been split in four series to run qualifying. The best times in the first group went to Gabriele Minì (CRG) in 50.388s, Simone Zaccaron (Zanardi) in 50.451s and Alfio Spina (Exprit) in 50.457s. Mattia Michelotto (Energy) topped the charts of the second group with a quickest loop of 49.951s, that was also the absolute quickest time of the day, followed by Leonardo Caglioni (Evokart) in 50.240s and Francesco Miotto (IPK) in 50.435s. The quickest time in the third group was posted by Biagio Ruvolo (Energy) in 50.267s, ahead of Francesco Pizzi (Energy) in 50.363s as the Swiss Leandro Anderruti (Gold) was third in 50.365s. In the fourth group the quickest time was set by Leonardo Marseglia (Evokart) in 50.246s, as Gustas Grinbergas (BirelArt) was second in 50.274s and Luca Griggs (CRG) third in 50.302s.
 
All the other Rok categories will run their qualifying on Saturday afternoon. The event's programme features qualifying heats on Saturday, Prefinals on Sunday from local 9.50 and Finals from 12.45.
