A spectacular presence of drivers has celebrated the 45th edition of the Trofeo delle Industrie, race organized by Parma Motorsport at the South Garda Karting circuit of Lonato. Live Streaming service on Sunday October 30th.
The 45th Trofeo delle Industrie, race organized by Parma Motorsport at the South Garda Karting circuit of Lonato, is ready to celebrate another record in its very long history started back in 1971 with a top class participation featuring a stunning 214 drivers on track.
The event that is part of the CIK-FIA International calendar kicked off with four categories on track and a big presence of 68 drivers in KZ2. Category 60 Mini is also packed with a lot of drivers as 72 racers will make it to the track, while OK Junior will have 52 drivers at the start and Prodriver 22 split between Under and Over.
Lonato’s paddock is therefore full and lively with drivers showing a great desire of coming to the fore and find a prestigious place in the richest hall of fame of karting. Several works teams are present as well as the strongest private teams, with drivers representing 27 different countries.
KZ2. On track, free practice sessions have been run on Friday October 28th ahead of qualifying and heats scheduled for tomorrow. Stopwatches started giving their first indications in this great challenge. The pace in this practice day of KZ2 was set by Enrico Bernardotto (CKR-Tm), who recently won the Autumn Trophy in Lonato. He has been the only driver breaking the wall of 46s posting a 45.973s in the closing session. Maranello Kart’s Tommaso Mosca (fastest in two sessions) and Massimo Dante have been among the quickest too, as was European Champion Fabian Federer on CRG-Modena, the young Dutch Max Tubben on CRG-Tm, Giuseppe Palomba on Croc-Modena and Lorenzo Giannoni on CKR-Tm. Mirko Torsellini has also been quick at his comeback among the ranks of CRG works team.
OK JUNIOR. The quickest driver of OK Junior has been the new Italian Champion Marzio Moretti on Tony Kart-Vortex run by team Baby Race. He topped the charts in two sessions and completed his best loop in 48.046s, while the Dane Larsen Gerner followed him in 48.116s on FA-Vortex run by AF Competition.
60 MINI. Alfio Spina on CRG-Tm run by Team Gamoto posted the fastest time of the crowded and tight 60 Mini in 54.605s. He was the quickest in three sessions, but Andrea Kimi Antonelli on Energy-Tm run by Team Giugliano has been the quickest in four sessions, the Russian Nikita Bedrin on Tony Kart-Tm run by Baby Race in three, while Leonardo Caglioni on Evokart-Tm and the South African Saood Variawa on Ward Racing’s Kosmic-Tm led the pack in one session each.
PRODRIVER. The fight for the top of Prodriver Under involved Nicolò Zin on CKR-Tm, who went quickest in two sessions with a best time of 47.434s, and Luca Bombardelli who topped the charts in the other two sessions on Maranello-Tm. Italian 2015 Champion Andrea Tonoli led Prodriver Over on CRG-Tm with a best time of 47.534s.
