The 37th edition of the Andrea Margutti Trophy will take place at the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato next March 12-15. This is going to be one of the most crowded events ever.
The 37th Andrea Margutti Trophy arrives at South Garda Karting from March 12th to 15th with over 280 drivers. Organized as usual by Parma Motorsport, the event is set to celebrate one of its highest-ever turnouts for this race on the FIA Karting international calendar.
In memory of the young Andrea Margutti
Such a large turnout confirms the enduring prestige of this event, established in 1990 to honor the memory of Andrea Margutti, a rising karting star who passed away at just 14 years during an accident at the Trofeo delle Industrie in Parma. Since then, the Margutti family, alongside the Pellegrini family of Parma Motorsport and Andrea’s peers and teammates—including Trulli and Fisichella—have maintained this competition in his name. Over the years, no other initiative dedicated to a fallen athlete has managed to achieve such significant standing.
Extraordinary results across all categories
This 37th edition in Lonato features the MINI U10, MINI Gr.3, OK-N, OK-N Junior, and KZ2 categories, with the presence of many of the most renowned international teams. Leading the pack in terms of numbers are the two new categories, OK-N and OK-NJ, that reached a combined total of 156 drivers (90 in OK-N and 66 in OK-NJ). Participation is also strong in KZ2 with 64 drivers, while the two age-divided MINI classes (Under 10 and Gr.3) feature 61 drivers in total. With 37 nations represented, the largest contingents—aside from Italy's 125 drivers—come from Germany with 22 drivers. Team Driver fields the largest squad with 11 competitors.
KZ2 – Bertuca aiming for the third win.
In KZ2, the standout performer of recent seasons, Cristian Bertuca with Birelart Racing, is back. The winner of the Andrea Margutti Trophy in both 2025 and 2023, he is now chasing his personal "triple" win. Also on the starting grid is the "evergreen" Davide Forè with Formula K SRP Factory, who has a long history in this race, including a victory in 2015. Among the top contenders are William Lanzeni (Power Competition), Filippo Sala and Alex Maragliano (CL Racing Team), Marco Tormen (Pantano), Michael Barbaro Paparo (Monster K Factory), and Alessio Piccini (Modena Kart).
OKN – 90 drivers on track.
The OK-N category is at full capacity with 90 drivers, featuring many protagonists from the federal category adopted by the Andrea Margutti Trophy in 2024. Highlights among the top drivers include the 2024 edition winner Manuel Scognamiglio (Pantano by DAM), along with other key players such as Nicolas Marchesi and Andrea Barbieri (Zanchi Motorsport), Bartosz Grzywacz (Team Driver), Riccardo Ferrari (M2 Racing), Federico Rossi (AKM Motorsport), Andrea Giudice (Marra 61), Nojus Stasionis and Juliusz Ociepa (Novalux), and Lamberto Ferrari (Monster K Factory), plus many others ready to challenge for the win.
OK-NJ – A lot of drivers also in Junior.
The OK-N Junior category features 66 drivers. Notable entries include Luigi D’Ascoli and Ioannis Kolovos (Modena Kart), Gioele Carrer (Emme Racing), Davide Di Filippo (DR), Victor Thomas Gorun (Tony Kart Racing Team), Alex Puligheddu (Lenovo Kalì Kart), Alexander Ruud (Ward Racing), and Samuele Lorenzoni (TK Kart Factory). There are also many rising stars moving up from the MINI category, such as Platon Kovtunenko (Borsch Racing).
MINI – Youngsters chasing a prestigious result.
Turnout is also strong in the MINI categories. In Gr.3, Daniel Ferguson (Team Driver) enters as one of the top favorites, alongside Theo Steindal (MP Academy Gamoto), Andreas Papageorgiou (CRG Racing Team), and the duo of Zane Pace and Alfie Richard Mair (Tony Kart Racing Team). In the Under 10 category, high expectations surround Blake Hsueh (Tony Kart Racing Team), who has been among the most competitive drivers at the start of this season.
