Lonato del Garda (Brescia, Italy). The renewed circuit South Garda Karting of Lonato is starting to breath Winter Cup's atmosphere, as the traditional karting race has been opening the international season for more than twenty years now.
Entry lists are already quite long for the race that will celebrate its 21st edition this year, from 19 to 21 February 2016. The presence of the main brands and most important international teams has been confirmed for this much awaited challenge that will start giving indications of who the main protagonists of season 2016 could be.
The await is mounting also among the drivers due to the recent shuffling of the lineups. On the technical side this will be the debut of the new international OK and OK Junior engines and of the newly homologated KZ2 engines of the shifter category. Mini Rok is going to be quite crowded and will have some new protagonists, as it has been opened to 8 years old drivers.
Performances on the 1.200 meters of the renewed South Garda Karting circuit are going to be another very interesting topic, as the new layout deeply differs from the past, mainly in its mid part that is now much faster in the zone leading from the paddock corner to the new chicane right after the mechanics grand stand.
All the ingredients for another success of the Winter Cup are there, and the name of all protagonists of the event will be known shortly. Meanwhile, due to the amount of entries received, organizers took the decision to increase the maximum number of drivers accepted for KZ2, OK Junior and Mini Rok to 90 units, while the cap for category OK has been raised to 52 drivers.
All categories will be fitting Bridgestone YLM tyres, while Panta fuel will be used by all categories except Mini Rok, that will have to use petrol station fuel. Mini Rok will be open to foreign drivers holding a Licence with VISA issued by their ASN.
The deadline for entering the 21st Winter Cup is next 12 February 2016.
Entries will have to be submitted online at racing.southgardakarting.it. The only payment method accepted for entry fees is via credit card.
